The Mission of the Las Positas College Foundation is to support and advance the College and its students through active resource development and effective community partnerships.
The Foundation believes that affordable, high-quality education is critical to the success of the Tri-Valley; it also realizes that such education is not guaranteed through traditional, state funding. Accordingly, the Members of the Board are dedicated to pursuing alternative support for the College through grants, direct investments, and in-kind gifts from local businesses and industries.
The Foundation recognizes the importance of strong external ties and collaborations. Board Members serve as essential ambassadors to the community, facilitating the exchange of information and expertise between the college and its constituents. The Foundation also formalizes many of the College’s links to the Tri-Valley and solidifies its role in the growth and development of its service area.
The Foundation sees itself as a valuable complement to the Chabot-Las Positas Community College District Board of Trustees, shaping Las Positas College’s future and ensuring its success.
